McLaren P13 chassis-testing mule caught again

McLaren P13 mule was first spied back in summer on the Nürburgring with the body of a 12C Spider.

Here is another P13 chassis testing mule showing a much wider wheel case and it also looks to have a longer wheelbase.

The P13 will be a smaller, lighter and more affordable model, joining the 12C, 12C Spider and the new P1.

The P13 is aimed at the end of Porsche 911 range and Audi R8.

The design will be similar to the current 12C and P1 with power coming from a detuned 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 linked to seven-speed Pre-Cog dual-clutch transmission. Reportedly the engine will deliver around 450bhp, which is significantly less than the new Porsche 911 Turbo, but with just rear-wheel drive it will be lighter meaning it shouldn’t be much slower.

Prices are expected to start at around £120,000 and a possible debut is end of 2014.
