McLaren 650S Spider debuts in Geneva, does 0-62mph in 3.0sec just like the coupe

When McLaren revealed the 650S last month, they released only pictures of the Coupe with engine specs and pricing for both models.

Here we have first pictures of the 650S Spider from the Geneva Motor Show.

There are no big surprises, but the 650S Spider with this bright orange exterior looks stunning.

Both models are powered by a 641bhp 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8(+25bhp compared to 12C) and feature a P1 inspired front that makes it much more attractive than the 12C, that the models are basically based on.

The two models are basically identical, with the Spider version using a retractable hard top, that can be operated at speeds up to 19mph, with the lowering or closing taking less than 17 seconds. The Spider is 40kg heavier, weighing 1,370kg, enabling it to go from 0-62mph in 3.0 seconds, just like the coupe, while 0-124mph comes in 8.6 seconds, making it 0.2s slower than the 650S Coupe. Top speed is 204mph.

The 650S Coupe starts at £195,250 with Spider priced from £212,250.
