Eastern Western Motor Group, a family-owned concern based in Scotland, has opened Western Mazda, a new dealership just a mile from Princes Street in Edinburgh. Mazda has been increasing its focus on fleet sales, expanding its Business Development Programme, which was launched earlier this year, to 20 more franchised dealerships.
The outcome reaps benefits for all concerned. Western Mazda joins Scotland’s 17-dealer network, kick-starting Edinburgh’s local business sales market. The new programme has already helped Mazda record a 13% year-to-date rise in core fleet sales to outright purchase fleets, contract hire and leasing companies, and through Mazda Contract Hire. And there’s the model range, able to meet all fleet requirements. The line up centres on the Mazda 2, Mazda 3 and Mazda 6, supported by the new Mazda 5 compact MPV and the sports-crossover CX-7. Even the iconic MX-5 is there, giving fleet buyers a lifestyle choice.
Western Mazda has been placed in the capable hands of Corporate Sales Manager Greg Law, whose CV includes ten years of experience in both corporate sales and serving Edinburgh’s business community. He says, “I am familiar with the Mazda brand, and with the new Business Development Programme launched all the pieces are now in place to ensure that the marque becomes well established with the local business community in Edinburgh.”
More than 200 company car orders from sub-50 fleets have been taken through Mazda’s Business Development Programme to-date and by April 30, 2011 – the end of the first 12 months of the initiative – the forecast is that orders for 820 company cars will have been taken.
