Lexus RC F revealed ahead of Detroit debut

Lexus has unveiled the all-new RC F ahed of its public debut at next week’s Detroit Auto Show.

Based on the new RC coupe, the RC F looks more aggressive and comes with wider wheels and tyres, an active rear wing, side sill extensions, air scoops, ducts, carbon fibre components and quad-outlet tailpipes.

The bonnet is higher than that of the RC coupe to accommodate the larger V8 engine. The speed sensitive active rear spoiler takes cues from the Lexus LFA supercar and deploys from the deck at approximately 50mph and retracts when the speed is less than 25 mph.

The RC F will be offered with three variations of 10-spoke 19-inch forged aluminium wheels.

The cabin is very similar to the standard model but comes with a new instrument cluster, leather-wrapped sport seats, alloy pedals, revised trim, new elliptical cross-section thick-grip steering wheel with paddle shifters.

Lexus did not release engine specs, but different sources claim the naturally aspirated V8 produces an impressive 454bhp. We’ll have full details next week when the car debuts in Detroit.
