LEAKED: New Chevrolet Corvette Z06 to produce 620 horsepower

The new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will be unveiled next week at the Detroit Auto Show.

Chevrolet recently revealed a teaser and now have accidentally leaked engine specs for the new Z06 via a dedicated web site that went live a bit too early and was shortly after picked up by Google search.

Basically if you performed a search “2015 Corvette Z06 supercar reveal,” a dedicated Z06 launch site would show up in search results with the meta description revealing the new Corvette Z06 packs an impressive 620 hp (611bhp) and 650 lb-ft of torque. That’s 115 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque more compared to the outgoing model.

The site has now been removed from the search, but we do have the screen shot thanks to Jalopnik.

What engine produces all this power is still speculative and different reports are suggesting there could be a twin-turbo V8, naturally aspirated 7.0-litre V8 or even a supercharged LT4 V8.
