Land Rover Unveils Discovery 4 Armoured Vehicle

The new Discovery 4 Armoured Vehicle is for those customers who live in danger and don’t want to sacrifice the luxury. The armoured version of the Discovery 4 is powered by a 370bhp 5.0 litre LR-V8 petrol engine that accelerates from 0-62 mph in 10.6 seconds. That’s not bad at all for a vehicle that has a curb weight of 3550 kg.

The armour fitting includes ballistic steel plates for high-velocity ballistics as well as blast protection against 15 kg of TNT, or its equivalent, and under floor protection against two DM51 hand grenades. The Discovery 4 Armoured rides on heavy wheels and run-flat tyres.

To handle all the extra weight, chassis was upgraded and includes a new air suspension, new air springs, revised damper settings, biggers roll bars and Alcon heavy-duty brakes. For all the upgrades see the press release below.
