Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse revealed

While we are curiously waiting for the Lamborghini Gallardo successor, the company has unveiled another “special edition” dubbed Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse that will debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

This new and most extreme model in the Gallardo line-up is based on the Gallardo Super Trofeo – race car from the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo.

The name Squadra Corse refers to the recently-founded department within Automobili Lamborghini, which manages all company’s motorsport activities.

Thanks to extensive use of aluminium, carbon fibre, the new top model weighs 1340kg, 70 less than the Gallardo LP 560-4.

Power comes from a 5.2-litre V10 delivering 570 hp, enabling it to accelerate from 0-62mph in 3.4 seconds, 0-124mph in 10.4 seconds, before topping out at 199mph.

The exterior is available with three colours: yellow, white and grey, featuring a decal strip along the flank displaying green, white and red, the colours of the Italian flag.

The large rear wing has a matte black finish, while the bonnet, front air intakes, rear diffuser and 19-inch forged wheels are painted in high-gloss black.

Interior boasts plenty of carbon fibre and Alcantara.
