The Brands Hatch grandprix circuit hosted a round of the Blancpain Sprint Series this weekend and glorious weather and sizeable crowds witnessed the Grasser Racing team’s Lamborghini FLII, piloted by Hari Proczyk and Jeroen Bleekemolen, dominate in both qualifying and main races. The HTP Motorsport Mercedes SLS and Team Brasil BMW Z4 repeated their 2nd and 3rd positions in both races too. Italian ex-F1 driver Alex Zanardi brought the biggest crowd reaction, finishing an impressive 5th having only qualified 17th in the morning in the ROAL Motorsport BMW Z4. Also popular during the pit lane autograph session was young ex-Carrera Cup driver Daniel Lloyd, piloting the Bhaitech McLaren MP4-12C.
The Vincent Abril and Mateusz Lisowski Team WRT Audi R8 LMS Ultra took the Silver Cup win in the afternoon with a very respectable 6th overall. Another R8, the Phoenix Racing car of Alessandro Latif and Marc Basseng took the Pro-AM Trophy in both races.
The sister Endurance series visits Silverstone this coming weekend and the Sprint series moves to Zandvoort on 4-6 July.
