Kia teases the third-generation Sorento with bolder and rounder styling

Remember the unofficial next-generation Kia Sorento renderings, based on spy shots from few weeks back?

These looked good but now as Kia has released official teasers, we can say they were not that close to the actual car as we assumed.

The all-new third-generation Sorento clearly has a bolder and also more rounder exterior styling. The front is characterised by a larger, more upright ‘tiger-nose’ grille, the roofline is lower and the new SUV has a higher beltline with a more muscular stance.

What’s under the skin is purely speculative, but reportedly the new Sorento rides on the same platform as the new Sedona, modified for an AWD option.

In Europe the new Sorento is expected to use a 2.2-litre CRDI linked to a standard manual or an optional automatic gearbox.

Domestic market debut is already next month in Korea, while European debut is in October at the Paris Motor Show.
