Jay Leno drives the Nissan IDx Nismo [video]

Nissan IDx Nismo concept was first shown together with IDx Freeflow end of last year at the Tokyo Motor Show.

We really liked both cars, especially the IDx Nismo, which is basically a modern day Datsun 510.

The concepts were designed to appeal to “digital natives,” the generation born after 1990 in an affordable and fun package.

The IDx Nismo is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol turbo linked to a six-speed manual. We were quite sure that as a concept, the engine is just part of the press release, but it turns out the car actually drives.

Recently the IDx Nismo stopped at Jay Leno’s garage for a quick drive.

This new episode of Jay Leno’s Garage starts with 1971 Datsun 510 and shortly after the spiritual successor IDX Nismo appears. Enjoy!
