Jaguar’s production crossover will be badged F-Pace, arrives in early 2016

Jaguar has announced the production version of the breakthrough C-X17 concept car will be called F-Pace when it arrives around this time next year.

The F-PACE name is inspired by the legendary F-TYPE, and according to Jaguar represents a perfectly judged balance of performance, style and practicality.

Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar, commented: “We received such an overwhelmingly positive response to the C-X17 concept car last year that we just had to make it a reality.

The F-Pace is a five-seat crossover going mainly against the likes of Porsche Macan, Range Rover Evoque and BMW X3/X4.

The C-X17 concept debuted back in 2013 at the Frankfurt Motor Show and the production model looks to be almost identical in size and design.

Engine range will include new Ingenium four-cylinder line-up as well as 3.0-litre supercharged petrol V6 used in the F-type.

Prices are expected to start from £35,000 with first deliveries n early 2016.
