Jaguar XJR debuts at the New York Auto Show

Jaguar has unveiled the hot XJR luxury high performance saloon at the New York Auto Show.

Under the bonnet is a 542bhp supercharged 5.0 V8 with 680Nm of peak torque linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel mounted shift paddles, sending power to rear wheels. 0-60mph comes in 4.4 seconds and the top speed is electronically limited to 174mph.

Front and rear suspension systems have been tuned at Jaguar’s testing and development centre at the Nürburgring as well as in everyday driving conditions.

Exterior styling and aerodynamic updates include a front splitter, special ‘R’ bonnet louvres, side sills, rear spoiler, quad tailpipes and new five-spoke 20-inch ‘Farallon’ forged alloy wheels wrapped with Pirelli PZero Corsa tyres in 265/35 and 295/30 front/rear.

There are ten exterior colours available for the XJR: Polaris White; Ebony; Ultimate Black; Stratus Grey; Lunar Grey; Rhodium Silver; Cashmere; Caviar; Carnelian Red; and Black Amethyst.

The XJR is available to order now with prices starting from £92,335.
