It's Official! Aston Martin To Build 150 Examples Of V12 Zagato, Priced at £330K Plus Tax

It’s been rumoured for a while now, but today Gaydon made it official — it IS to build road going versions of the Aston Martin V12 Zagato, 150 of them, and they’ll be priced at £330,000 excluding local taxes.

The body will be aluminium and carbon fibre, sitting on the underpinnings of the V12 Vantage.  It also gets that model’s engine, a V12 6.0 litre petrol with 510bhp and 420lb/ft of torque.  Performance should be on a par with the V12 Vantage, which does 190mph and licks the 0-60mph dash in 4.2 seconds — it may even be a smidge quicker depending on its final production weight.

Interestingly it looks as if the car will be built in-house at Gaydon, Aston’s Warwicksire factory, rather than by CPP in Coventry.  The latter was rumoured to get the task of manufacturing the 150 examples, as it produced the limited run (of 77) One-77 for Aston Martin.  We also revealed this week that CPP bought Italian styling house Zagato last August (2010), so a link with the car already exists.

First deliveried of the V12 Zagato are expected early 2012.
