Infiniti EMERG-E Prototype Debuts At Goodwood Festival Of Speed [VIDEO]

Infiniti has revealed the EMERG-E prototype at the Goodwood Festival of Speed with Red Bull racing F1 driver Mark Webber driving it up the Goodwood hill. The EMERG-E prototype is based on the Lotus Evora and uses a range-extended electric powertrain that can be also found in the Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid.

The powertrain features two electric motors and a three-cylinder petrol engine that acts as a generator to charge the batteries. Combined power output is 402bhp, enabling it to reach 0-60mph in around 4.0sec and hit a top speed of 130mph. The prototype is fully functional and can travel up to 30 miles in EV model.

Infiniti hasn’t confirmed plans to build a production model, only saying that the EMERG-E “provides an exciting glimpse into Infiniti’s future.”
