Hyundai Announces Vat-tastic Offers On i10, i20 and i30

January can seem a little bit gloomy, what with the post-Christmas blues, shortage of cash after spending too much on presents and the government’s VAT rise making things even more expensive.

To help bring a little cheer to car buyers, Hyundai has decided to not only freeze the VAT increase like other retailers have done, but is actually paying the 20% VAT on selected i10, i20 and i30 Comfort models as part of a range of VAT-tastic offers for 2011. Hyundai’s 20% contribution on the selected models is on now and will be valid until the end of March.

With this offer, the highly acclaimed i10 city car is just £7,109 for the Comfort 1.2 5dr model, a saving of £1,410, the i20 supermini is £8,809 for the Comfort 1.2 3dr model, a saving of £1,750 and the i30 mid-sized family hatchback is £11,605 for the Comfort 1.4 5dr model, a saving of £2,285.

Even with these excellent savings, finding the cash to afford a brand new car can still prove difficult. As a separate offering to the no VAT deal, for buyers who want to spread the cost of their car over three years, Hyundai also has a very competitive Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) plan. A typical three-year plan has an APR of just 7.9%.

Sample PCP monthly rates based on 10,000 miles per annum:

Model Deposit 36x monthly payment
i10 1.2 Classic five door £449.10 £165
i20 Classic three door £791.30 £199
i30 1.4 Classic five door £1,365.60 £279

Tony Whitehorn, Hyundai Motor UK’s managing director explained, “Hyundai begins 2011 by offering fantastic deals on a great range of products that are backed by our class leading five year unlimited mileage warranty. Making selected models VAT free as well as offering competitive PCP plans should make buying a new car more affordable.”
