Geneva 2011: Infiniti Etherea Concept

The Etherea is an exploration into what a future entry-level Infiniti may look like. It looks like a mixture of a coupe and a hatchback. Power comes from a hybrid powertrain that features a 242bhp supercharged 2.5 litre four-cylinder engine and a twin-clutch system that links the electric motor to the engine.

The Etherea measures 4.4 metres in length and features unique rear-hinged back doors and the absence of a B-pillar.

“ETHEREA is about a new type of luxury,” said Toru Saito, Corporate Vice President and Leader of the Global Infiniti Business Unit.

“It is for younger buyers who do not want a smaller version of a typically conservative and traditional luxury car. It is for people who want a car that defines who they are, not who their parents were.”
