Galpin Ford GTR1 prototype debuts at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance

Galpin Auto Sports has unveiled the new GTR1 prototype at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Monterey, California.

The GTR1 is a vision of what the Ford GT may have looked and performed like today had Ford continued its evolution when the production ended in 2006.

The Galpin GTR1 prototype uses a twin-turbocharged 5.4L V8 rated at 1024 horsepower and 739 lb-ft of torque.

Future owners have the choice of ordering their GTR1 in either a carbon fibre body or an aluminum body just as the prototype pictured here.

With 1024 horsepower, the GTR1 can accelerate from 0-60 mph in approximately three seconds, from 0-100 mph in mid-six second range and has a top speed in excess of 225 mph.

A maximum of 24 units are planned with prices starting over one million dollars (£640k). Production is scheduled for early 2014.
