Futuristic smart fourjoy concept revealed ahead of Frankfurt debut

smart has unveiled a fourjoy concept ahead if its public debut at next week’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

The fourjoy is a compact four-seater with no doors, no rear window and an open roof – according to smart, the fourjoy dispenses with unnecessary ballast.

The concept is 3494mm long, 1978mm wide and 1494mm tall.

Power comes from an eectric drive with a 74bhp magneto-electric motor and the lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 17.6 kWh. In addition to standard charging from a household socket or charging station, the 22 kW on-board charger and a rapid charging cable enabling the battery to be charged in one hour.

The interior is as futuristic as the exterior, featuring two lounge type front seats and the rear seat bench with a similar design.

The dashboard adopts a honeycomb structure while the instrument panel support is made from illuminated and transparent Plexiglas. Two smartphones are mounted on the dashboard and on the centre tunnel.
