Funny number plate: Hummer H2, or is it Fiat 500 on 'roids?

I personally wouldn’t pay for a private plate for many different reasons, but it clearly is a good way to personalise your car and stand out from the crowd.

Some of the plates are funny, while others are just wrong on so many levels.

UK’s most expensive number plate is “F1” and was bought back in 2008 for £440,625 by Mr Kahn, who runs A Kahn Design in Bradford and has it on his Bugatti Veyron or SLS McLaren. This clearly is a good investment as he was offered £6 million for it last year. He turned it down!

The most expensive number plate ever carries the single digit number ’1′ and was sold in 2008 to a member of a wealthy Abu Dhabi family, Saeed Abdul Ghafour Khourim for a reported $14.3 million (£860k).

The number plate you see here was sent in by a reader from Estonia, showing that the owner of this Hummer H2, either has a wicked sense of humour or his previous car happened to be a Fiat 500. Private plates are not cheap and it is likely when he changed cars, the new owner did not want the Fiat 500 plate, so he slammed it on the big SUV. He clearly gets more attention now, than he would with a standard plate.

Thanks for the pics Peeter!
