From virtual world to reality: Mercedes AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept debuts in Los Angeles

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a 1:1 scale model of the AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The attractive futuristic supercar concept was created for the upcoming Gran Turismo 6 available only on the PlayStation 3.

The AMG Vision Gran Turismo draws inspiration from the 300 SL racing car, featuring gullwing doors, LED radiator grille, long bonnet, flowing lines, compact green house and a dramatic side contour with muscular body shell.

The central star on the grille is also inspired from the legendary 300 SL racing car and instead of classic louvres the grille of the show car features exclusively LEDs.

Power comes from a 577bhp AMG V8 biturbo with peak torque of 800Nm linked to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT seven-speed sports transmission.

The concept has an aluminium space frame body and components made of carbon fibre, resulting in a dry weight of just 1,385kg.

It is an impressive concept and even though it is unlikely we will ever see it on the road in real life we can all drive it on the virtual world very soon when the new Gran Turismo 6 is launched.
