Ford S-MAX Concept previews next generation model

Ford S-MAX Concept is a preview for the second generation S-MAX that is expected to debut next year. The first gen model has been on the market since 2006 and it is time for a bigger update.

The S-MAX Concept is referred to as sport activity vehicle not a minivan, featuring a sleek and sharp design with detailed craftsmanship, advanced technologies and more flexible interior.

The latest Ford global design language is easily seen with a high mounted grille, swept-back headlamps and a unique treatment of the vehicle’s lower fascia.

The interior shows a front cabin with the main focus on the driver, at the rear, the second row of seats has a centre seat that fold into the vehicle’s floor allowing for maximum versatility.

Ford SYNC with MyFord Touch delivers wi-wi access for passengers and is supported by a tablet docking station that allows integration of their personal devices into the vehicle.

the concept is powered by an all-new 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol engine with turbocharging, which in the new Fusion/Mondeo produces 178bhp and 240 Nm of torque.

The S-MAX Concept will debut next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
