Rumors about a smaller Maserati saloon below the Quattroporte, have been circulating for a while now, and finally here we have proof. The baby Quattroporte mule spotted earlier today shows us a slightly shorter wheelbase, smaller front brakes, different bonnet and one single exhaust pipe on each side of the rear bumper.
When the new small Maserati saloon arrives in 2012, it will go against the Jaguar XFR, AMG E-Class and BMW M5. The new baby Maserati saloon is reportedly designed in house by Fiat Centro Stile.
The car pictured here is just a mule, based on the Quattroporte, and the actual production model will look a lot different. Stay tuned for new spy photos and details!
