Donington Hosts Penultimate Britcar Round

The East Midlands circuit greeted the Britcar teams for the penultimate event of 2013 where a combined grid will see both Production Series and MSA Endurance Championship race for two hours into the darkness.

Ian Loggie and Chris Jones did the minimum necessary to put the Team Parker Porsche 997 GT3 Cup on pole for Class 2 – the pair have dominated their class this season.

The Mosler of Javier Morcillo and Manuel Citrano took the third place slot in Class 1, with Mike Millard’s Rapiper SR2 on pole and the Aston Martin Vantage of Paul Bailey and Andy Shultz in 2nd.

In the Production series, Guillaume Gruchet binned his freshly-tyred Porsche Boxster into the gravel at the Goddards Chicane but dragged it out to finish qualilfying 3rd in class. Michael Symons took pole in the Geoff Steel BMW M3 with Mark and Peter Cunningham taking 2nd.

More to follow on what will likely be an eventful day as the rain sweeps in.
