Detroit 2011: Lio-Ion All-electric Wave II and Inizio Supercar

North-Carolina based electric automobile manufacturer Lio-Ion Motors announced at the Detroit auto show that they will bring two electric cars to the public later this year.

The WAVE II is the winner of the Progressive Insurance Automotive X Prize for having achieved an amazing 202.5 MPGe economy rating based on U.S. Department of Energy testing and criteria. This two passenger vehicle offers 0.8 cubic meter of storage space and is priced from $39,000 USD.

The Inizio supercar is priced from $139,000 USD and is reportedly the fastest 100% electric supercar to hit the market this year. 60mph comes in just 3.4 seconds and the top speed is 170mph.

The fully refundable deposit for the Wave II is only $99 and $1000 for the Inizio.
