Datsun is back! This is the all-new Datsun Go

Reborn Datsun brand has unveiled the all-new Go, which will go on sale in India in early 2014. Datsun is now the third brand for the Nissan Motor Company along with Nissan and Infiniti brands.

The five-door, five-seat Go will be produced locally and the name comes from Datsun’s first model DAT-GO which came out in Japan in 1914.

The car measures 1635mm in width, 1485mm in height, 3785mm in length, while the wheelbase is 2450mm. Power comes exclusively from a 1.2 litre petrol engine linked to a five-speed manual with power sent to the front wheels. Exact power figures and performance specs are not known yet.

Inside there glovebox is replaced by a space under the dashboard, handbrake and gear lever are moved to the dashboard when comparing the interior to the Micra, which is resembles and borrows some details from.

The Datsun Go will be priced at below INR 400,000 (approx. £4,500) and is expected to be launched in other emerging markets soon like Indonesia, South Africa and Russia.
