Chinese Qoros to Debut its First Car at the Geneva Motor Show

Qoros is a new Chinese automaker, which was established four years ago through an equal partnership between Chery and Israel Corporation, a global industrial holding company.

Next March at the Geneva Motor Show, Qoros will unveil their first car, a compact four-door saloon designed by Executive Director of Design, Gert Volker Hildebrand.

Qoros will market their cars both in China and Europe. Sales in China are scheduled to begin in late 2013, while most of the Europe will see it in early 2014.

The advanced modular architecture will be used for a wide range of models and variants, including the introduction of hybrid and electric vehicles. Qoros promises to launch a new variant almost every half year.

Qoros plans an initial production run of 150,000 units, rising to a potential maximum output of 450,000 cars.

Unlike other Chinese cars, Qoros says their products will be distinguished by a strong focus on state-of-the-art technology, with high levels of user-friendly in-car connectivity and vehicle safety standards which compare to the best in Europe. Qoros also promises that all their models will be engineered to receive maximum ratings in Euro NCAP safety tests. We’ll see soon.
