Chevrolet Unveils Mi-ray Roadster Concept In Seoul

Chevrolet is showing a Mi-ray(Korean for future) Roadster Concept at the Seoul Motor Show, that was developed at the GM Advanced Design Studio in Seoul.

The Mi-ray pays tribute to Chevrolet’s sports car heritage, like the 1963 Monza SS, and 1962 Corvair Super Spyder.

Most of the Mi-ray is made of carbon fibre and carbon fibre-reinforced plastic, with ambient lighting underneath, and Le Mans racer-style scissor doors, that open up.

The Mi-ray features a concept “mid-electric” propulsion system, located primarily behind and beneath the driver, that maximizes performance and fuel efficiency. Power comes from two front-mounted 15 kW electric motors for quick acceleration and zero emission driving in urban areas. Motivation to the engines comes from a 1.6 kWh lithium-ion battery that is charged through regenerative braking energy.

Main power comes from a 1.5 litre, that together with the electric motors can provide torque control to both the left and right wheels as needed.
