Callaway Corvette SC610 based on C7 Corvette Stingray revealed with 610bhp

Chevrolet showed us the all-new Corvette Z06 earlier this month at the Detroit Auto Show with a new 6.2-litre LT4 supercharged V8 delivering at least 625bhp and 653 lb-ft of torque.

Impressive numbers, but the real car won’t arrive before early 2015, but there is an alternative based on the new seventh-generation Corvette Stingray that you can buy sooner than that with similar power specs.

One of the most famous Corvette tuners Callaway has introduced a new tuning package for the Corvette Stingray called, the SC610, featuring carbon fibre bonnet, Callaway-branded door sill plates, unique dash plaque and big changes under the bonnet.

The standard 6.2-litre V8 has been equipped with an Eaton supercharger, an intercooler, a high-flow intake and a stainless steel sports exhaust system, taking the power up from 455bhp all the way to 610bhp and 556 lb-ft of torque.

This hot Corvette will go from 0-60mph in just 3.4 seconds with a quarter mile time in 11 seconds flat at 125mph.
