Cadillac Teases ELR Coupe Ahead of Detroit Debut

Cadillac has revealed a first teaser image for the all-new 2014 ELR extended-range electric luxury coupe, that will make its world debut January 15 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Cadillac ELR is based on the Converj concept, featuring extended range electric vehicle technology in a unique luxury coupe. Details are limited, but it will use the same range-extended electric drive system found in the Chevrolet Volt, though we assume the engine will be more powerful.

The ELR will go into production in late 2013 at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly plant, where the Chevrolet Volt, Vauxhall Ampera/Opel Ampera and Holden Volt are also produced.
