Brio – Honda’s answer to Alto and i10

The rival to Suzuki Alto and Hyundai i10 is here! Honda has launched their new five door hatchback which is called Brio. In January, 2010, the car was seen for the first time in a Delhi motor show and later in last November, it was displayed in its final production form. Brio is equipped with a 1.2 litre 89 bhp i-VTEC petrol engine.

The five door hatch is pretty much similar to the one that of Jazz. It is 1.68m wide and 3.6m long.

Brio, equipped with an Electronic Brake Distribution System and two airbags will be launched in Thailand first and Honda expects to sell 40000 units of that car annually. Honda has also plans of launching the car in India by the end of 2011.

As Brio does not meet European crash test standards, it won’t be competing with Alto and i10 here.
