BMW X4 spied less disguised on the Nürburgring

The upcoming BMW X4 with less camouflage has been caught again testing on the Nürburgring.

The prototype has lost some of its camouflage compared to our previous spy shots, revealing more of the side profile and front lights, which will be similar to the upcoming BMW X3 facelift.

The X4 follows a similar formula as the X6, but with a more compact approach.

The X4 is based on the X3 platform and was first previewed as a concept earlier this year at the Shanghai Motor Show.

Engine line-up is expected to carry over from the X3 it is based on:
A TwinPower Turbo 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 240bhp and 352 Nm of torque
A TwinPower Turbo 3.0-litre inline-six with 300bhp and 406 Nm of torque
A 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel with 184bhp and 380 of torque

The X4 will be built in South Carolina, US and the production model is expected to debut in January at the North American International Auto Show 2014 in Detroit.
