To celebrate the US arrival of the i8 hybrid sports car, BMW has unveiled a unique one-off i8 Concours d’Elegance Edition, which will be auctioned by Gooding & Company with proceeds benefitting the Pebble Beach Company Foundation and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The special edition is distinguished with a unique paint scheme and interior treatment.
The exterior features BMW Individual Frozen Grey Metallic exterior paint, while unique interior boasts Dalbergia Brown leather upholstery, tanned using dye derived from plant extracts. The upholstery is also accented with stitching in BMW i Blue.
The BMW i Blue can be found also on seat belts. The “BMW i8” is embossed into the front headrests.
The words “Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Edition” are laser etched into the door sills and a plaque on the rear parcel shelf contains the signatures of senior BMW executives who played key roles in the development of the i8, including:

The car will also come with a complete set of Louis Vuitton luggage tailored specifically for the BMW i8.
As a reminder, the hybrid i8 is powered by a 213bhp 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol with 320Nm of torque, working together with a hybrid synchronous electric motor producing another 131bhp and 250Nm of torque.
Combined power output is 357bhp, enabling i8 to go from 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds on its way to an electronically limited top speed of 155mph. Range in EV mode is up to 23 miles and aerage fuel economy is an impressive 134.5mpg with CO2 emissions of just 49 g/km.
