In addition to first spy photos of the 2013 BMW i8 that we brought you earlier this week, we now have video footage of the same car from snowy Sweden.
The concept version was powered by an innovative hybrid system, that featured a 1.5 litre three cylinder diesel engine and two electric motors, with a combined output of 328bhp. Judging from the sound it looks like the prototype has kept the diesel unit, though there have been rumors that the production version will get a petrol unit instead.
The production version is expected to reach 62mph in 4.8 seconds, while offering an average fuel consumption of 75.1 mpg.
This 2+2 sports car with wing doors will be built at the Leipzig plant, and BMW plans to build up to 10,000 units a year.
