BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor revealed

BMW Concept Active Tourer range has grown with the addition of a second concept called Concept Active Tourer Outdoor, which will make its public debut tomorrow at the OutDoor Friedrichshafen fair in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

The concept shows how interior space can be cleverly utilised for sport and leisure purposes.

Finished in an exclusive Gold Race Orange exterior paintwork, the BMW Concept Active Tourer Outdoor also features Easy-care, hard-wearing interior materials and a carrier system for two bicycles integrated into the interior.

Proportions and the powertrain is same as on last year’s Concept Active Tourer which made its debut at the Paris Motor Show.

The transversely mounted 1.5-litre petrol engine with front-wheel drive is linked to an electric motor, delivering average fuel consumption of 113 mpg and CO2 emissions of less than 60 g/km. Combined power output is 190bhp and range in EV mode is up to 19 miles. 0-62 mph takes less than 8 seconds and the top speed is 125 mph.

The Concept Active Tourer is not destined for production, but will influence the upcoming 1 Series GT.
