BMW 2 Series Cabrio Spied in Munich, Germany

These are our first spy photos of the BMW 2 Series Cabrio (F23) testing near BMW’s technical center in Munich, Germany.

The new 2 Series is based on the current 1 Series platform and uses the name 2 Series for Coupe and Cabrio. A similar move BMW is doing with the 3 Series, by launching 4 Series for coupe and cabrio.

The 2 Series headlights look sleeker and sportier when compared to the current 1 Series as does the overall shape of the car.

In addition to coupe and cabriolet, the new 2 Series is rumoured to span also a Gran Coupe (four door coupe) variant. High performance M2 with different body variants will also follow.

Even though we are bringing you the Cabriolet pictures first, the Coupe (F22) will debut before. Very likely already at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Both models are expected to hit the market in the second half of 2013 with both three and four cylinder engines.
