BMW 1 Series M Coupe On Sale Now, Priced From £40,020

The new BMW 1 Series M Coupe made its public debut earlier this year at the Detroit Auto Show. BMW is comparing the 1 Series M Coupe with the E30 M3 coupe, which is as considered as the purest M car by many enthusiasts. Now this new M car is on sale in UK, with prices starting from £40,020 OTR.

The BMW 1 Series M Coupe is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0 litre inline-six that delivers 340bhp and 500 Nm of torque, just as it does in the Z4sDrive35iS, making it the first M model with a standard production powerplant.

Weighing 1,495 kg, the 1 Series M Coupe accelerates from 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 155mph. The 1 Series M Coupe is only offered with a six-speed manual transmission, Variable M locking differential, compound brakes, DSC with MDM and M Servotronic.

Dr Kay Segler, former Head of BMW M and the driving force behind this car has said: “It’s a pure, clear M car. It’s a 1 Series that caters for the young enthusiast, combining the substance of an M3 with a 1 Series and a very strong engine. Together this makes for focused car that begs to be driven.

“Inside the 1 Series M Coupé there is a secret you will find in each and every M car, the M button. By pressing it, this transforms the car into a totally different creature, increasing the throttle response and putting an even bigger smile on your face.”
