Bentley Continental GT V8 S Coupe & Convertible with 521bhp revealed [videos]

Bentley has unveiled a more powerful “S” version of the Continental GT V8 with 521bhp – an extra 21 bhp compared to the standard GT V8.

The 521bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 S with 680Nm of torque is linked to a close-ratio ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, taking the coupe from 0-60 mph in just 4.3 seconds and onto a top speed of 192 mph (309 km/h). The GT V8 S convertible does it in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 191mph (308km/h).

Other updates include a lowered(by 10mm) and retuned sports suspension, sharper steering, ‘S’ signature styling cues and a distinctive soundtrack from the uprated V8 engine.

The new GT V8 S coupe returns a combined cycle fuel economy of 26.8 mpg and CO2 emissions of 246 g/km, while the convertible returns 25.9 mpg and has CO2 emissions of 254 g/km. As a result the GT V8 S can cover more than 500 miles between fill-ups.

The Continental GT V8 S will debut next week in Frankfurt with starting in early 2014.
