Audi has revealed a new hot diesel version of Q5, called the SQ5 TDI, on the eve of the Le Mans 24 hour race.

The SQ5 TDI is powered by a 309bhp 3.0-litre V6 bi-turbo diesel with 650Nm of torque. This new engine enables the SQ5 TDI accelerate from 0-62mph in just 5.1 seconds to a top speed of 155mph, while the average fuel economy is 39.2mpg.

Power is sent to quattro four-wheel drive via eight-speed automatic gearbox. Other updates include a 30mm lower suspension, modified bumpers, roof spoiler, black brake callipers with ‘S’ badging, 20-inch alloys, a sportier fascia and aluminum-look mirrors. New exterior colour choices include Estoril Blue or Panther Black paint.

Interior features sporty touches like leather and Alcantara seats, a new steering wheel design and plenty of SQ5 badging.

The order books open in October with first deliveries set for spring 2013. The SQ5 TDI is priced at around £45,000 and you can place your order in October with deliveries set for next spring.
