Aston Martin Vanquish Volante revealed, priced from £199,995 [video]

is finally here after numerous spy shots.

Vanquish Volante retains the coupe’s dynamic character, boasting the same new AM11 6.0-litre V12 engine with 564bhp as the coupe and exactly the same performance figures, with 0-62 mph sprint in 4.1 seconds while the top speed stands at 183 mph.

Vanquish Volante is the stiffest and first fully carbon fibre-skinned Volante in the company’s history.

The new car’s triple-skin lightweight fabric roof takes just 14 seconds to fold and the car weighs just 9kg more than the coupe, tipping the scales at 1,844 kg, which is still quite much and obviously one of the reasons why the performance numbers are not as good as one would hope from an engine that powerful.

Announcing the arrival of the Vanquish Volante Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez said: “This car is what luxury super GT driving is all about. Great performance, fantastic style and exhilarating Volante motoring in one superb package.

Overall design in and out, except the fabric roof is identical to the coupe.

In UK the Vanquish Volante is priced from £199,995(10k more than the coupe),from €264,995 in Germany and from $297,995 in the United States.

First deliveries are expected to begin in late 2013.
