Aston Martin Cygnet on display at Harrods

The public debut for the luxury Aston Martin Cygnet is right here in London at the Harrods department store not at a major auto show. Based on the Toyota iQ, this luxury city commuter is designed to set a new benchmark for compact luxury. Don’t expect a V8 or V10 in this little Aston. The power is expected to come from a 1.33 litre petrol engine with around 97 bhp found in the iQ.

The Cygnet is on display in a ground-level window until December 11, the car is already on sale through Aston Martin’s European dealership network with production set to start in early 2011. We’ll be taking a closer look at it soon to see how does the Cygnet compare to the iQ. Stay tuned!
