All-new Mazda MX-5 is here and we love it

Mazda MX-5 is the best-selling two-seater sports car ever with over 940,000 units sold since the compact sports car was launched in 1989.

Just in time for its 25h anniversary, Mazda has unveiled the long waited all-new MX-5 with the latest KODO – Soul of Motion design language and SKYACTIVE technologies.

The new model rides on an all-new rear-wheel drive version of the SKYACTIV-Chassis with power coming from specially tuned SKYACTIV-G petrol engines. Engine details are limited, but we can expect both 1.5 and 2.0-litre petrol units linked to SKYACTIV-MT six-speed manual transmission producing between 140-200bhp.

Compared to the outgoing model, the new MX-5 weighs 100kg less and has the lowest-ever centre of gravity, while also offering a perfect 50:50 weight balance.

Surprisingly the new model is 105mm shorter, 20mm lower and 10mm wider, than its predecessor making it look much sportier.

The new design is just beautiful, making the new model more modern, upscale and more aggressive. It clearly is also more upscale with its new look.

The all-new MX-5 will go on sale in Europe sometimes in 2015.
