All-new Mazda CX-3 compact crossover teased for Los Angeles debut

Mazda has released the first image and details of its all-new compact crossover SUV, named the CX-3, which will make its world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 21.

The CX-3 will join the bigger CX-5 and three-row CX-9 models as a new entry level model, featuring the full range of SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY and KODO—Soul of Motion design.

The teaser sketch does not reveal much, but according to Mazda “the essence of KODO—the expression of life within a vehicle—has been evolved to produce a sharper form with an enhanced sense of speed”.

Details are limited, but the CX-3 is likely based on the new Mazda2 and the engine range is expected to include 1.5-litre SKYACTIV-G, SKYACTIV-G i-ELOOP and SKYACTIV-D with power ranging from 75bhp to 115bhp.
