All-New Kia Rio Revealed Ahead Of Geneva Debut

Kia has revealed the first photos of the next generation, that will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show alongside the all new Picanto.

The new model has an extended wheelbase by 70 mm (to 2,570 mm), offering more passenger space, together with increased cargo capacity of 292 litres for the hatchback. Compared to the outgoing model, the new one is 55 mm longer, 15 mm lower and 25 mm wider.

Kia’s new B-segment car will be offered with wide range of petrol and diesel engine, including a 1.1 litre diesel unit generating 69bhp, with CO2 emissions from as low as 85 g per km. An all-new 1.2 litre GDI will also be available from 2012.

The new Rio will be on sale in the UK from September as a 5-door version, a 3-door will follow in early 2012. Pricing and full specs will be announced nearer the on-sale date.
