Hyundai has unveiled the all-new third-generation Tucson crossover ahead of its debut in early March at the Geneva Motor Show.
The all-new Tucson brings a new improved look with inspiration from the production Santa Fe and Intrado concept from last year.
The new model has a more rugged, bolder and athletic look compared to the outgoing model. The new horizontal, chrome-accented slats in the hexagonal grille match now other recent members in the Hyundai lineup.
“Design expresses our progressive spirit and passion, and it is transforming our brand. The All-New Tucson has a bold and athletic presence achieved through refined, flowing surfaces, bold proportions, sharp lines and most importantly, our newest generation hexagonal grille – our brand signature,” said Peter Schreyer, President and Chief Design Officer at Hyundai Motor Group.
New interior introduces new soft-touch, high-quality materials across cabin surfaces. The centre console is underlined by its horizontal orientation, and there is an optional ‘Wine Red’ leather to bring further sophistication to the cabin.
Riding on the completely new platform, the new Tucson offers generous interior dimensions and a substantial 513 litres of luggage capacity with all the seats up.
There is also a new-generation navigation system that is more than three times faster than the previous version fitted in other Hyundai models and comes with a seven-year free subscription to TomTom LIVE services.
Safety features include Autonomous Emergency Braking system, Lane Keeping Assist System, Rear Traffic Cross Alert system, Blind Spot Detection, Speed Limit Information Function ans Active Bonnet System, which raises the vehicle’s bonnet to cushion the impact shock in any frontal collision with a pedestrian or cyclist.
Engine range includes different petrol and diesel units with power ranging from 113bhp to 182bhp linked to a six-speed manual or an optional seven-speed dual-clutch with the 1.6-litre T-GDI turbo.
The new Tucson will go on sale in Europe during the second half of 2015.
