Alfa Romeo has finally unveiled first details and pictures of the highly anticipated Giulia saloon.

Alfa Romeo describes it as one of the most brilliant examples of automobile excellence, and the range-topping Giulia Quadrifoglio sure is mighty impressive.

Here we have only specs and images for the range-topping model, that features an aggressive front fascia with mesh grille inserts, sleek headlights, ventilated carbon fibre bonnet, ventilated front fender vents, aerodynamic side skirts, big alloy wheels, rear diffuser with four-tailpipe system, as well as an Active Aero Splitter which actively manages downforce for higher performance and better grip even at high speed.

Interior images were not released, but we can expect there sporty steering wheel and seats, plus carbon fibre, wood and other high quality materials.

The Giulia Quadrifoglio is powered by a turbocharged six-cylinder engine producing 503bhp, taking the sporty Italian saloon from 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds.

The Giulia has a standard rear-wheel drive with all-wheel drive optional.

Other highlights include a 50/50 weight distribution, rear differential with torque vectoring, active splitter, a weight-to-power ratio lower than 3kg/hp meaning it is expected to weigh around 1,500kg, a multi-link rear suspension and double wishbones up front.

The Giulia will go strongly against BMW 3 Series The range topping 503bhp Giulia Quadrifoglio will offer a very strong alternative to the BMW M3.

We really like what we see and are looking forward to seeing it in person.
