New Subaru WRX STi spied for the first time

The new Subaru WRX concept made its debut last month at the New York Auto Show. The WRX Concept was clearly a big surprise of the show, hinting at the possible design of the next generation model.

What we have here are the first pictures of what is very likely a prototype for the new WRX STi. The body and window lines clearly show a brand new model. The prototype obviously is not identical to the hot WRX concept and the camouflage is doing a fine job hiding all the little details.

The prototype has the already typical big rear spoiler, twin exhausts on both sides, big air intake in the bonnet and also looks like the headlights are narrower compared to the current model.

The new WRX STi is expected to use a turbocharged 2.0-litre boxer four-cylinder engine with over 300bhp. Symmetrical all-wheel drive system will remain standard, both saloon and hatchback bodystyles should be offered.

Stay tuned for more details!
