2015 smart fortwo production version spied

Here we have our first pictures of the third generation smart fortwo. We have seen different chassis testing mules, but these are the first spy shots showing the actual production model testing in Southern Europe.

The prototype is heavily disguised in a black and white camouflage, but we can still get a good overview of its proportions. It looks a bit shorter and lower than the outgoing model. The wheelbase also looks shorter.

Overall design is similar to the smart forvision concept, which debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. The headlights and the grille are especially very similar.

There will be an all electric version with a 87bhp electric motor and regular versions with a range of three-cylinder petrol and diesel units.
