2015 smart fortwo chassis testing mule spied with a new front

Last summer chassis testing mule for the next-generation smart fortwo was caught testing in Germany and we were quite sure that full body prototypes will start testing soon.

Close to a year has passed and the testing continues, but still no full body prototypes. The mules spied testing in Death Valley, California reveal a new camouflaged front for the first time, showing a steeply rising grille with the lights in a very high position.

The platform for the new fortwo will be shared with Renault that will have its own small city car.

Just as the current generation model, the new smart fortwo will be offered with a range of engines, including an all-electric model.

Market launch is most likely in late 2014 or in early 2015.
