2015 Shelby GT revealed with 627bhp, designed for international markets

Shelby American has unveiled the first global Shelby GT muscle car, based on the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang GT.

The new Shelby GT features Ford Racing Performance Parts including a 627 HP supercharger, performance handling kit and half shafts. Gearing has been upgraded 3.73 gears and paired with chrome-tipped Borla exhaust.

Other under the skin updates include new performance handling kit and Wilwood six piston front brakes.

The exterior features a new carbon fibre body kit that includes a front splitter, side skirts, a rear diffuser, a ventilated carbon fibre bonnet, carbon fibre mirror caps, a carbon fibre rear spoiler, revised aluminium grille, body stripes and special badging.

Interior updates include Shelby branded custom headrests, new floor mats, branded door sill plates, carbon fibre dash pod with 3 gauges and CSM dash plaque and engine plate.

All this rides on 20-inch WELD Racing wheels shod with sticky Michelin tyres.

A Shelby GT can be based on a manual or automatic Mustang GT and the most exciting options include a 700+HP performance upgrade, adjustable suspension, upgraded big brake kit, and a number of interior upgrades.

The price of the base Shelby GT modification, not including the donor car is $39,995. Shelby American points out that it is the first Shelby GT designed for international markets, meaning there is a high chance you can order it one day as a LHD model.
