2015 Range Rover Sport SVR revealed with 542bhp, priced from £93,450

Land Rover has revealed all details on the range-topping Range Rover Sport SVR ahead of this weekend’s global debut at Pebble Beach on 14 August.

The Range Rover Sport SVR is the fastest, most powerful Land Rover ever produced and the first model to wear the SVR designation being adopted soon to other future Land Rover and Jaguar high-performance models.

Power comes from a 542bhp 5.0-litre supercharged V8 linked to advanced ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, taking the Sport SVR from 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds on its way to a top speed if 162mph. Lap around the Nürburgring takes just 8 minutes and 14 seconds, making it the fastest SUV around the green hell.

The SVR model also comes with revised chassis, new optional 22-inch alloys wheels with high-performance tyres and an active two-stage exhaust providing a thrilling V8 soundtrack. After changes to the chassis, the SVR retains the class-leading all-terrain capability. The SVR can wade up to 850mm and tow up to 3000kg.

Visually the SVR is distinguished from other Sport models by a new sportier front bumper with larger air intakes, revised grille, new front fender vents, new powerful side skirts, large rear spoiler, new rear bumper with a gloss black diffuser and four-tailpipe exhaust.

Prices start from £93,450 with order books to open in October and first deliveries in early 2015.
